Itineraries

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, a Cold Feet representative will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport and help you transfer to your hotel by private vehicle. Enjoy a free evening to explore Kathmandu and recover from jet lag. Meet Cold Feet staffs for a short pre-tour briefing before dinner.

A full-day guided tour around Kathmandu city's historical and cultural landmarks. Visit Bauddhanath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, the most important sites in Nepal for Buddhists and Hindus. Catch the playful antics of monkeys and beautiful city views at Swayambhunath temple. Also, take time to disappear in Kathmandu's old city bazaars, public squares, and former royal palaces at Kathmandu Durbar Square.

Leaving the bustling metropolitan center of Kathmandu, we head north towards Shivapuri National Park passing Bauddhanath and Gokarna Forest along the way. After approx. an hour of drive, we reach at Sundarijal from where we start trekking and enter the National Park forest. We start out trek through pristine forests passing the occasional river. After walking for around three hours, we reach at the top of the ridge that makes up Shivapuri Park from where we can look back over the entire Kathmandu valley. Pressing onwards, we descend to Chisapani for the night.

We continue our trekking towards Kutumsang, passing through classic, delightful village with some shops and good mountain views. We walk uphill and downhill and pass through Gulbhanjyang, the Sherpa, Gurung, and Tamang settlement. Gulbhanjyang showcases the cultural aspect of local ethnic people. Crossing the jungle and terraced fields, we eventually reach Kutumsang, where we stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

From Kutumsang, we climb up in a steep and eroded trail passing through the rhododendron and fir forest. The beautiful sunset view awaits you as you reach Tharepati. Enjoy the nice views of Jugal Himal, Numbur Himal, and of course the awesome views of Helambu Valley right below you. Stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

Descending down to Melamchi River and crossing the river to climb up to Sherpa settlements, we make our way up to Tarkegyang today. Tarkegyang, a beautiful Sherpa village itself, possesses one of the oldest and biggest Buddhist monasteries. We stay overnight at a local guesthouse.

Our trail is going to be relatively easier from Takegyang as we have to pass through some flat land with lush vegetation. We'd eventually penetrate the village called Sermathang where some ancient Buddhist monasteries are waiting for you. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Gradually descending all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar, we pass through several picturesque meadows and cultivated fields. As you pass by several villages, you can even get an opportunity to intermingle with the locals we encounter. You can explore much about their lifestyle, and obviously their cultures and traditions as well. We stay overnight at a guesthouse.

After having your breakfast, it's time to start our drive along a bumpy gravel road from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Lamidanda. We then follow the metaled road until we reach Kathmandu. You can utilize the remaining time to explore, shop, or simply relax in Thamel before rejoining the group for dinner and drinks to celebrate your trekking success!

A Cold Feet representative will accompany you to the airport to catch your returning flight. We hope to see you again soon!
