Danda Gaon Village Trek

Danda Gaon village is situated in Dhading district, which is about 64 kilometers west of Kathmandu. We have crafted this Danda Gaon Village Trek as a typical cultural trek to explore unique local culture and lifestyle the village offers. Danda Gaon consists of about 400 to 500 households which represent the mixed culture of Brahmins, Chhetris, Newar, Magar and other ethnic groups. This unique village not only offers culture but also offers the magnificent views of Ganesh Himal to Langtang Himalayan Ranges.
To begin this trek, we will drive from Kathmandu to Keureni (54 kilometers). We then start our trek to Danda Gaon Village. You can do this trip with fully supported camping or local homestay as well. You will have an opportunity to eat local Dal Bhat and their organically produced vegetables.

This morning we start at a relaxed pace and spend time enjoying this amazing part of the world. You wake up at approx 8am and enjoy a local breakfast of bread, curry and milk before we say goodbye to our host family, collect our gear and make our way up to our next destination, our school program. Morning activities will be arranged here to embrace your area of expertise.
A packed lunch has been arranged to help us keep moving as we have a 2 hour uphill section of our trek to complete before we reach the local Hindu Temple called Kalika. This is a beautiful photo location opportunity and after you have had a short rest we proceed to the top of the hill (Patal Chuli-2200m) where panoramic views can be seen of some of the best countryside in Nepal as well as amazing mountain views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Range.
Our overnight stay is only a short distance away and similar evening program applies from the previous night.
Day 06: Patale to Chamere Gupha and Return back to Patale (Full Day with packed lunch)
Today is one of the main highlights of our trip as we head towards one of our main destinations, the Chamere Gufa (Bat Cave). If you are not interested to visit Chamere Gupha, then we will directly trek down to Dhading Besi and drive an hour to our first day of rafting.
For those who are interested to visit Chamere Gupha, we have to add one more day to our trekking. After an early rise and breakfast, we gather our gear and commence a slow uphill climb for 2-3 hours before we reach our caving sight.  We take our time to rest and prepare for the experience of a lifetime as we squeeze and curl our way through the intricate caving system. This is a challenging couple of hours and individuals are able to come and go as they please, taking breaks whenever is required to resurface and enjoy the amazing views while sitting and talking under the pine trees. A local spring is available for your drinking and washing needs as inside the cave is a damp, natural environment.  Our lunch break will also be taken here in an informal capacity to coincide with the needs of our cavers.
After a short break we will commence our main decent down to Patle where we will spend the night.  After you have settled in you will have some free time to discuss the day’s activities, eat and sleep. Your rest will be well deserved.
Day 07: Patale to Dhading Besi to Kathmandu or Rafting
We arise at a reasonable time approx 8am to pack our bags, have a well-nourished breakfast and continue our trek down the Dhading Besi. This will take approx 4-5 hours so we will be stopping for lunch of Dhal Bhat along the way. For those who are not interested in rafting can go for Kathmandu. From here we say goodbye to our alternate lifestyle and return to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu in early evening where our trekking Adventure will end.
Those, who are doing rafting, can continue their first day rafting.

What Client Say

I have made a trip to Helambu circuit with Cold Feet in March 2009 and had a great time. Our Guide Suman did fantastic job. I will recommend Cold Feet to any of my friends and family who are traveling to Nepal. Tom Manzo Tucson Arizona

November 2013 - I just returned from the most amazing trek to Annapurna Base Camp with ColdFeet! Gopi and his staff were so helpful before I even arrived in Nepal and continue to be during my stay in this amazing country! Sunaina was an awesome, fun and caring guide. I would highly recommend ColdFeet to anyone looking for tours/treks in the Nepal area! jackie o. CANADA

Hey We just came back from a trip to langtang. Organization was very efficient, we planned the trip in two days and just went right away to Langtang! Beautiful place to see, good accommodation and very friendly guide, thanks Coldfeet! Nicolas Lacombe FRANCE

Great trek to Gosainkund lake arranged at short notice by Cold Feet, followed by rafting and cultural visits. We turned up at the desk in Thamel and Gopi organised all the rest for us at very short notice. Great guiding and even evening entertainment with puzzles and tricks. John Edwards turnipedwards@virginmedia.com

Today and yesterday I had an amazing two day sight seeing tour, in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Patan and lots of other places, organized by ColdFeet! Unfortunately I could not finish my original trek to ME base camp because I got ill and had to get back. Waiting for my friends, the lovely people from ColdFeet helped me get back on my feet and made my trip - although slightly different as planned - one I won't ever forget en enjoyed very much! So... thanks! Ilona Zwolle, The Netherlands

What I like best about the team at ColdFeet is not only are they knowledgeable guides and leaders, but they have the ability to help you get under the skin and really experience this wonderful country. Not only did we did have a great time trekking the Annapurnas and rafting the Trisuli, but we left Nepal feeling we had made lifelong friends. Tom, South London Tom email.tom.griffin@gmail.com

I am now in my final year at university in England but a few summers back I was lucky enough to be part of a trek adventure in the Everest region organised by ColdFeet. Gopi, who was in charge, lead 50 Wimbledon Explorer Scouts for roughly ten days. The trip was incredibly well organised and we all felt very safe under his and his support staffs' guidance. Not only this but because of Gopi's extensive experience in the region we were really able to make the most of everything that was around us. I would enthusiastically recommend ColdFeet to anyone looking to trek in Nepal, not least because aswell as being professional and reliable all the staff at ColdFeet are friendly and do their upmost to make sure everyone really has fun. I look forward to any opportunity to be in Nepal with ColdFeet again. Oliver Young London
